Contentment comes from consistently REmaining confident in Christ
“Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.” Philippians 4:11
When we walk by faith, we BEcome confident in what God will do in our lives that we cannot see, and we also REalize the importance of contentment, as written in Philippians 4:11. It says, “Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.” Today’s message from “Daily Strength for Women” says, “Contentment is not a natural response to being without; it is a mindset that is learned from relying on God. When we undergo seasons of being in need, we learn more intimately how fulfilling God is and how faith in him is really what carries us through the most challenging times.” BE content on Christ for He already has, is, and will continue to provide what you need when you REly on Him.
Mark 6
Mark 6:13 REminds us that anytime we can go to the Father alone in quiet contemplation, and He will give us REst; REst from worry worry that will give us contentment. For as in the latter part of this same chapter, if He fed 5,000 with two fish and five loaves of bread, imagine what He can do for us individually depending upon Him and His ways.
Reflection from Faith vs. Fate
This morning in “Faith vs. Fate” the author says, “The Greek word for faith according to Strong's concordance is ‘pistis’, and it means ‘Firm persuasion’ – a conviction based upon hearing.” Further in the text it is stated, “From the definition above we can see that faith is a gift given to men after they have put their trust in Him, and this faith isn't just given as a one-time gift but rather a continuous, growing, and progressive gift.… True faith can only come by continuously hearing the words of Christ, the good news and the promises of God.” May we strengthen our faith each day along life’s JOurneY seeking God’s word, increasing our confidence and contentment in Him, as well as knowing more and more about what He has done and continues to do.
