Family Complications

Today’s message says, “Like people today, Old Testament characters struggled in family relationships… In our own difficult family situations, loyalty and kindness may also seem an unwise response. But God wants our actions to always reflect His readiness to bless amid heartache and hurt.”Whether we are managing immediate family, extended family, situations with co-parenting, and even workplace relationships, let us work to respond and engage in ways that are pleasing to God. Rise above in situations and even in situations of anger and frustration, kill with kindness with a focus on God’s expectations.

The scripture associated with today’s message is from 2 Samuel 9:7 and reads, “And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

Remember how we treat one individual impacts others. Consider your actions and how they impact others beyond those who may come against you.

Small Straws Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

God knows and sees all we struggle with internally and externally. Let us take comfort in knowing that we can give everything to Him, and He will ease the pain, provide us safety and rest, and fight for us or protect us from harm.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

God gave His son, the ultimate sacrifice so that you and I don’t have to suffer and be sacrificed in this world, but live in love and protected by Him.
