Let us rest for it is important as we work to do the will of God in our daily walk

Permission to Do Nothing

This morning Kundtz says, “It is first necessary to give everyone permission to stop, permission to do nothing, and permission not to feel guilty.” In my circumstance and I am sure many others, we act like it is a crime and a shame to do nothing. This world has evolved into a place of go, go, go, and see how much you can do, and show all that you are doing (through social media). Those are a combination for burnout, better yet, crash out. The writer also quotes Maya Angelou who wrote, “Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us. We need hours of aimless wandering or spates of time sitting on park benches observing the mysterious world of ants and the canopy of treetops.” Let us find time to withdraw, and help those around us understand the importance of doing the same, holding each accountable for stopping, which is caring for oneself.

Let us remember Mark 2:27, “Then he said to them, ‘The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath.”

‭Our Father created a day for intentional rest; let us be obedient and observant.

Small Straws Scripture: Matthew 6:11-13 Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Let us always give thanks and pray for whatever we need. Let us always seek forgiveness, and pray for protection to do what is right, striving to resist the enemy and his ways and tactics.

Youversion Verse of the Day Colossians 3:13

Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Let us strive to be forgiving and bear with others who insist on finding issues and fault in us instead of.

Let us rest for it is important as we work to do the will of God in our daily walk, my friend. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
