Let us rest when we must in order to continue the work God sets before us
A Fast Train on a Fast Track
Kundtz quotes Dr. Stephan Rechtschaffen, physician, this morning who said, “The fast-paced rhythm of modern life conditions us to skim the surface of experience, then quickly move on to something new.” Modern day life has become consumed with everything being instantaneous, not appreciating history, and quickly moving on to the next newest and “greatest” thing. As Kundtz describes, this gets us out of sync if we’re trying to slow down, and unfortunately, we end up getting in sync and continue to spiral out, in alignment with people and ways that keep us flying through each day. But as encouraged by Kundtz, “Fortunately, there is something we can do about it. Stopping can get us off the train, can separate us from the speeded-up rhythms of those around us, and can bring us into rhythms of our own choosing.” Take time to get into your own rhythm. Stop and go to the beat of your own drum and not that of others.
Isaiah 30:15 says, “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” May we always seek the opportunity to just be, resting in His arms and allowing His will for our lives to occur in the timing and along the path He ordains.
Small Straws Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand!
Even in rest, our Father is with us to protect us and guide us in preparation for our next steps and purpose in this life.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Acts 20:24
But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace.
May we all strive to complete not what we want but that of purpose which the Lord desires of us.
Let us rest when we must in order to continue the work God sets before us, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
