May we rest and rest assured knowing the provision and protection upon our lives through Jesus Christ

Doing Nothing

I believe we all can relate to the following statement made by M. Scott Peck, physician and writer: “I have a very full and busy life and occasionally I am asked, 'Scotty, how can you do all that you do?' The most telling reply I can give is, 'Because I spend at least two hours a day doing nothing.'" The lives that most of live are consumed with the responsibilities that are necessary for or family, those that come with our profession, and those that vary from other roles and commitments. In the same way that cars sit idle in traffic, we have to make sure we do the same with congestion in our lives. Realizing what’s going on around you, and more importantly honing in on how you feel, it is important to take the appropriate periods of time to resolve to do nothing.

Exodus 20:6-8 is the reminder of the importance of rest. “Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.” Let us not just wait upon the sabbath but realized when we need to pause, or better yet stop, in preparation to go where we need to go and do what we need to do.

Small Straws Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Let us work to give freely of our time, talents, and gifts knowing that it pleases our Father and He will bless us even more in unmeasurable ways.

Youversion Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The love for us was so unconditional that we don’t have to suffer in sin or death because Christ has done so for us.

May we rest and rest assured knowing the provision and protection upon our lives through Jesus Christ, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
