Let us work and walk in a way that is rooted in Christ and living an abundant life
Moving Down to the Roots
The word “radical” is emphasized today in our reading. Kundtz provides Webster’s dictionary definition of the word: "From a root or relating to the origin: fundamental.” As has been explained to us, stopping allows us to get to the root of things in our lives. Then the question is posed as to why don’t we take time to do this radical step in life, and Kundtz shares, “Because we have received powerful anti-Stopping messages from society telling us it is wasting time, and because many of us are afraid of what we'll discover down there in the roots of ourselves. We're unfamiliar with the territory and we often want to avoid it, if possible.” I learned through life coaching that “you cannot heal until you reveal”. That revealing is not necessarily to someone else, but more importantly, to yourself. We must stop just moving on, but instead take time to stop and dig into our own roots. Take time to get to the root of your why—what’s keeping you going and what’s hindering your growth.
Hebrews 12:15 cautions, “See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble, and through it many become defiled.”
Let us be vigilant about ensuring our why is pure, working to focus on our roots to the fruit we produce as we grow and walk in our purpose.
Small Straws Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Instead of worrying, may we all replace it with prayer, supplication, and also reflection, realizing what He has always done, and the current matter in life doesn’t change who He is and what He will do for me and you.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Isaiah 1:17
“Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.”
Let us keep our focus on doing good for ourselves and for the greater good of others.
Let us work and walk in a way that is rooted in Christ and living an abundant life, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
