May we allow ourselves to be shepherded along life by the One who promises to lead, guide, and direct us to safety and prosperity
Reframing Grief
Kundtz says, “Often what prevents us from creating quiet space in our lives, what keeps us from the essential joy of doing nothing, is the presence of grief.” He then goes on to say, “I believe one of the first signs that we are ready to face grief is our willingness to stop, to be quiet, and to be with ourselves.” When we are in pain and or are grieving, many times our reaction is to avoid what we are feeling. However, as discussed today, the appropriate response is to allow ourselves to experience the grief, for it is a natural response to loss. A good friend of mine encouraged me when I was experiencing multiple losses, reminded me to feel what I needed to feel. When we give ourselves permission to feel, we give ourselves the opportunity to be, and when we give ourselves the opportunity to be, we are able to process situations, develop an understanding for ourselves. Moreover, as mentioned by the Kundtz, “Having grieved, we return to life, to ourselves, with a new compassion, a new understanding, and even a new joy.”
Psalm 30:5 reads, “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Weeping is a natural part of life, yet the Father assures us that whatever we experience that may trouble us will not last always.
Small Straw Scripture: Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Whatever we need in this life we can rest assured that it will be so in Christ.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Matthew 25:31-32
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: and before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.
There will come a time when we all will have to take account for our lives, deeds, and actions. May we be work to live and be considered among His sheep in the end.
May we allow ourselves to be shepherded along life by the One who promises to lead, guide, and direct us to safety and prosperity, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
