May we find internal JOY with the Father with all our inmost being
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.” Psalm 103:8
Today’s devotional “More Compassion” begins with scripture from Psalm 103:8, “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.” The message for the day then continues, “God loves his children regardless of their sin, their past, and their failings. We aren't dealt with as we deserve; rather, according to his great love for us. Can we say the same about how we treat those around us?” Although love is in need, compassion is just as important in a world of hurt, for hurt people hurt people. May we always be reminded of the compassion our Father shows to us, and work to do the same for those around us.
Reflection from SoulSister: Renewing Your Mind Through the Word of God
Today’s devotional from “SoulSister: Renewing Your Mind Through the Word of God” reminds us that we are “Commanders”. The author goes on to say, “Being a commander requires power. To command means to have and exercise direct authority.… But our authority is only given to us through a relationship with the Son of God, Jesus Christ.” The message then goes on to remind us of David. It says, “In Psalms 103:1, David is commanding his soul to ‘Praise the Lord.’ David is a Soul Commander. He becomes even more specific when he says, ‘All my inmost being, praise his holy name.’” May we work to establish an intimate rapport with our Father, but most importantly, may we give our whole inmost being—mind, emotions and will. Give your all to Christ.
