May we live in each moment focused on what the Father would have us to do, as we grow stronger in Him along life’s journey
Just Being
A cartoon from author Gahan Wilson is the emphasis of today’s message. It is about an older monk speaking to a younger one and saying, “Nothing happens next. This is it." Like the young monk, many times we focused on trying to figure out what’s to come instead of being and appreciate the time we are in at present. As the writer says, “ It has a clear and important message for the way we live in these millennial times. Like the young monk, we need the wisdom of people who have spent time being quiet, listening to the heart, learning the questions that only silence can reveal, absorbing the life-giving silence, and being as aware as possible of this moment.” Let us treasure the moment we are in and appreciate what is provided and what is going on with us in the now, not worrying about what may (or may not) occur.
I researched this scripture yesterday for myself and even shared it with my son last night. Many times we begin to worry about the future when our spirits are down, but as written in James 1:2-8, “My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind; for the doubter, being double-minded and unstable in every way, must not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” Let us be present in situations and live in the moment, seeking our Father to keep us present and have His will for whatever is to come.
Small Straws Scripture: Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Know that when we walk with the Father, what He ordains is intentional, nothing is by chance. Thy will be done.
Youversion Verse of the Day: 1 Timothy 4:8
For, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
No matter what we do physically, nothing tops being spiritually fit for life now and forever.
May we live in each moment focused on what the Father would have us to do, as we grow stronger in Him along life’s journey, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
