A Holy Longing

What are the things we long for? I know I long for rest and a good vacation. Some people long for a good meal or visit by family. Today’s message speaks to us longing for earthly things yet, “If we were completely honest with ourselves, we'd have to admit that our earthly longings usually supersede our longing for God.” May we truly desire to be drawn closer to the Father, longing to be near to Him, hear His word, and heed his wisdom in all that we do each day.

Psalm 42:1-2 reads, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

Our God is so essential for our spiritual growth as water is essential for our everyday lives.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Know that we can seek our Father as our source of safety and protection anytime we are in need.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Even though sometimes we may face difficulties and don’t see how things will change, God has greater plans in the making on which we can hope for and depend.
