Daily Devotional for September 12, 2020

“I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.” ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭34:26‬ ‭

As I continue to grow, I am appreciating seasons in life more and more. Seasons truly come and seasons go. But as a theme keeps coming up lately, seasons can BE cyclical. September is a cyclical season for me. Naturally it occurs each year, but September is harvest season, and as I continue to look back over my life (and REmain forward), I look at the harvest God promises me. In this season I first BEcame a mother. In this season, I took a bold step in faith into a new life of singleness. In September, I finished the draft of my book and launched mybigegolife.com. However, these things did not come without a price to BE paid. As talked about this week, I had to lose to win. There was (and will BE) rain, heartache and pain in our lives, but as Osteen says, “Those adversities and struggles (didn’t) and will not go to waste; God (used them and) is using them to prepare you for the amazing future He has in store.” THIS is my season for grace...for favor. REflect over your life, and get in tune to YOUR season.

Ecclesiastes 11

May we work and enJOY this life that we are given. Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” Let us work while we have time and are able. Just as importantly, “However many years anyone may live, let them enjoy them all...You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see...” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:8-9‬ ). Live in the moment with no REgrets.

I love the quote that began the devotional from Faithspring today. “When God is going to do something wonderful, He always starts with a hardship; when God is going to do something amazing, He starts with an impossibility.” ― Anne Lamott

I am truly learning again challenges are cyclical—they will come, but I’m a witness that they only open up new opportunities and blessings from the Lord. The devotional goes on to say, “God does not have to play by the rules of this world. He does not have to follow logical means of accomplishing what He wants. God is ready and able to help you conquer your debt. All you have to do is ask in faith and take the next weird step He sets out for you.“

“Weird” step is right! Don’t ignore those thoughts and feelings that may seem crazy or impossible to you. For Isaiah 55:8 REminds us that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are our ways His ways, but we can trust and BElieve His master plan for our lives. Do not ignore what He puts in you or what He moves you to do. I never imagined I would be a dean. I never imagined I would be divorced. I never imagined I would be alkaline vegan. I never imagined I would be a business owner spreading His word, coaching others, and feeding others through meal prepping! Yet, I trusted Him and took the weird step in faith. Trust your G.U.T. (God’s Ultimate Truth); it’s for you.

1 Corinthians 10:31

Let us BE the example for others to follow in all of our actions and deeds. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
