Daily Devotional for September 11, 2020

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭

Perspective has truly BEcome the key to my persistence and perseverance, especially when I grow tired and feel like I cannot press on. What I have REalized along with my dear friend, Michelle, is that the enemy is busiest trying to steal, kill, and destroy when I’m on the verge of a new breakthrough. Joel Osteen states this morning, “When the intensity has been turned up, that’s a sign you’re about to step to a new level of God’s favor.” As this happens, I’m so grateful to have my circle maker friend to say to me, “Buckle up buttercup” so I don’t let go, but let God.

Ecclesiastes 10

If someone’s anger rises against you, do not let it shake you; calmness can lay great offenses to rest. (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10:4‬). Be still and know that He is God, and let Him defend you.‭

For most of us, losing has a negative connotation, but what I have found as I continue to walk with Christ is in many ways we have to lose to win. We must sacrifice in some capacity to gain. The vision of the little child comes to my mind. She stands with the teddy bear and is unwilling to give it up because she’s comfortable with it—she’s secure and that’s all she seems to know and love. Not knowing that the Father has something newer, bigger, and better if she just let’s go and trusts Him. As asked in today’s devotional by Faithspring, “What are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve what God has in store for you?” Let us REmember that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). We must have faith, but we have to put forth action in order to access what God has in store for our lives.

Psalm 147:3

It’s so good to know that our Father truly has the magic touch. He has the power to heal; from divorce to death—earth has no sorrow that our Father cannot comfort and mend. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Fixate your focus on the Father this Friday, my friend.
