Simplicity and strength are secured through our Savior

“and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:3

This morning’s message from “Daily Strength for Women” focuses on the “Mighty Oaks” as described in Isaiah 61:3, which says, “They will be known as Mighty Oaks of Righteousness, planted by Yahweh as a living display of his glory.” We are those mighty oaks. We have been planted, rooted and grounded in the Lord. As the message says, “You are not a weak sapling, limited by inadequate light and meager nourishment. You are a strong and graceful oak.” No matter what comes our way or against us, we shall not be moved. Let us be steadfast and immovable, knowing our Father provides strength to us for every situation and will always be our anchor of support.

Reflection from Spiritual Disciplines

“The Discipline of Simplicity” is discussed today in the “Spiritual Disciplines” series. Today’s message begins by saying, “Simplicity is the uplifting of your soul that prevents you from an exaggerated care for yourself. Such simplicity is a true treasure.” It goes on to say, “Practicing the discipline of simplicity helps us relate to our belongings in a correct way. It helps us enjoy them without being destroyed by them.… the discipline of simplicity does not depend on your wealth or your poverty, but it has to do with your attitude towards what you have.“ Let us work to enJOY the simplest things in life and work towards simplicity for our lives, as this will lead to peace, serenity and appreciation for what He has and continues to provide for us each day.
