Submit this day and each day to the Savior
“Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.” Ecclesiastes 11:4
I have heard the saying from Ben Franklin which says, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today”, but today the messages “Procrastination” highlights a similar message in the bible. Ecclesiastes 11:4 says, “Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.” What are you putting off? What do you continue to make an excuse about, or who are you making an excuse for again? This morning we are encouraged by the writer, “Right now, today let's choose together to follow the advice of Scripture and decide that a few minutes late is better than absent. Let's acknowledge our collective fatigue, and then do today's version of our best in spite of it. Let's stop waiting for a burst of creativity, attack our projects, and see what happens. Let’s honor God- and surprise ourselves at the same time.” I receive this message and know at least one thing I need to do today. Tomorrow is not promised so let’s take our time to make a list and work towards seeing things through by taking a step today.
Reflection from Spiritual Disciplines
The sixth day of “Spiritual Disciplines” speak to “The Discipline of Submission”. It says, “To submit means to give up the burden to enforce your own will towards any authority be left by God in your life.” We may wonder if there is a limit of some sort to submission. The message goes on to say, “There’s no limits in the relationship with God. Total surrender, total submission! The limit in the relationship…comes when submitting to someone would exclude the possibility of submitting to God. Obedience has to be in the Lord. We must obey God rather than human beings!” As we go about our day, may we be obedient to God above (wo)man. We know right from wrong and what our spirit is telling us from God. S.T.O.P. if you must for a moment—submit, trust, obey, and pray.
Psalm 34:18
He never abandons us, especially when our hearts need mending.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Submit this day and each day to the Savior, my friend.
