Timing is Everything
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time…”. Ephesians 5:15-16
Each day I’m learning more and more the importance of waiting well. In this life we want what we want, when we want it. However, if we REally know what’s good for us, we will wait well for the Lord. Perspective: I have a friend in my life right now, but it took a dear siSTAR to help me see at this time, maybe I’m not supposed to have all that I desire in this RElationship BEcause my focus needs to BE elsewhere. So, as today’s devotional by Osteen says, I’ll wait wisely, enJOYing the true friendship I have, enJOYing my children, and establishing myself in my career. As highlighted this morning from Ephesians 5:15-16, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time…”.
God will give us a sign when it is time to push to open the door He has for us, but as Osteen describes, it’s like birth. We must wait, REalizing sometimes the greater the pain we experience, the closer we are to a door opening. Let us wait well for God to push us, and let us not pull back missing His touch. For when He does push, we know something new is coming—the door is BEing opened for greater, which He has in store for our lives.
Numbers 18
As we wait and are blessed along this JOurney, “Be sure to give to the Lord the best portions of the gifts given to you” (Numbers 18:29 NLT).
REflection from Promises for Your Everyday Life
Joyce Meyer speaks about love in today’s devotional from “Promises for Your Everyday Life”. She emphasizes, “I Corinthians 13:4-7 gives us examples of the many facets of love: ‘Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance’”. As she REminds us there are facets of love that we are provided to live like Jesus and love everyone. We may not BE able to share the love as described in one facet, but there’s some facet that fits with the ones we love most, and those who may come against us. REmember God is love. Let us share in His goodness for ourselves and others.
James 5:16
