The Gift of Attention

My pastor in his Sunday messages checks in with the congregation every now and then saying, “Are you listening?”. This is his way of checking with congregants to see if we are paying attention to his message. Kundtz this morning speaks to attentiveness saying, “Stopping allows us to pay the necessary attention in order to prioritize life. In this way, Stopping is something like the death of someone we know. It leads us to value and appreciate every moment of our own existence as priceless and irreplaceable. At that moment we often ask the long questions and the big questions: "Am I doing what I really want to do?" and "Am I being who I really want to be?"

Many times we find ourselves just going through the motions of life, not truly being present, and not truly feeling what we need to feel, or as just shared, doing what we really want, or better yet, need to do. Let us not let another day pass us by without taking time to stop for ourselves. Let the stopping slow you to be and then become and do what is in your heart and mind and soul.

Isaiah 43:7 reads, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”

We are not our own. God created us on purpose for a purpose. Are you living as He is instructing you to do?

Small Straws Scripture: Psalm 27:14

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage. and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!

May we forever await God’s timing for things in our lives, knowing He will supply everything we need according to His will.

Youversion Verse of the Day: Psalm 105:1

O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: Make known his deeds among the people.

May we always call on the Lord when we are in need, and may we forever give Him praise.

We are all masterpieces created, protected, and given purpose by our Father on high, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
