Daily Devotional for November 27, 2020

And the Lord said, “Is it right for you to be angry?” Jonah‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭

We are all of flesh and have feelings. We will go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) things in life—it’s inevitable, but as the scripture associated with Osteen’s message questions us, “Is it right for you to be angry?” Yes, pain is pain—it hurts, causes tears, even breaks the heart, but we should not allow it to make us hostile and seek vengeance. As I continue to reiterate to us (which includes myself) everything God ordains, and He has/is/will work everything for our good. Osteen makes a simple point with the message, “If you get over it, God will still get you to where you’re supposed to be.” Let us REmember, when we go T.H.R.O.U.G.H., forgiveness is for you and me, for our thoughts and feelings have an impact on us. We can’t heal if we don’t REveal, but we must not continue to RElive it. So as a good friend of mine told me once, “Feel what you need to feel, but don’t stay in it.”

Exodus 31

God has given us strength and wisdom to work unto Him all of our days, but with the gifts and talents He has bestowed upon us, as stated in Exodus 31:15, “Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord...”. Let us take time to let go to REstore and REjuvenate ourselves for there is much work to do. Learn to REst and REcover my brother and sister and follow the lead of our Father who REsted while doing His great work.

REflection from Ready to Unlock the Kingdom of God

When we choose Christ, many unintentionally (and sometimes intentionally) want us to change and fit into a mold and mindset they have about who and what a Christian is, but as Paul Marc Goulet presents in today’s message, “God doesn’t judge you on your looks, or bank account, but on the wealth of your heart and mind.” Matthew 13:52 says, “He said to them, ‘Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.’” It’s not what we look like, but what we bring to ourselves and others as we go about this glorious adventure, for we each were uniquely made—fearfully and wonderfully at that.

Galatians 6:10

May we take advantage of every opportunity to see God in everything GOoD we do. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
