Your word is your bond, and should be our bond with Christ as well, focused on His expectations to live and share of Him with others
Saying What You Mean
As I read Kundtz’s message this morning, I immediately began to think of words from Dr. Seuss. “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” I, too like to say what I feel, but our culture is more accustomed to being concerned with what someone else might really think or respond to our truth. So, as mentioned in today’s message, “Sometimes people don't really want the truth… Sometimes it's a question of simply being civil… Courtesy, convention, and our own personal quirks keep us from saying the exact truth some of the time, and often rightly so.” Where we are, what we feel, and even the reaction or response from others is what we always take in consideration before we speak.
Proverbs 18:20-21 reads, “From the fruit of the mouth one's stomach is satisfied; the yield of the lips brings satisfaction. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Let us always be mindful of what we say, for what we speak can never be taken back, and words we speak sometimes we may have to eat.
Small Straws Scripture: Proverbs 4:20-23 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
As we work to engage with ourselves and others, may we keep the words of Christ in the forefront, striving to be compassionate, courteous, and forthright in all that we say and mirror what we do.
Youversion Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 10:5
“And every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.“
Let us analyze what we do and ensure it aligns with Christ’s expectations of us.
Your word is your bond, and should be our bond with Christ as well, focused on His expectations to live and share if Him with others, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
