Daily Devotional for September 17, 2020
“…the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials...” 2 Peter 2:9
I REflect all the time now and REalize that I am living my latter for what I prayed for at some point in my life, and it is truly greater. Then I think to myself that my BEst is yet to come. God truly knows the desires of our hearts and keeps His promises. In order for us to REap our harvest, sometimes we must experience REjection. Osteen states today that “One day we will look back and thank God for the closed doors in our lives, because if God hadn’t closed the door...we wouldn’t see the amazing favor He has for our future.” Bask in today, for it is the future of your past. Look at the prayers God, in fact, has answered. They may not BE in the form we expected, but He’s kept His promises to us. Know if He brought us to this, He can only take us through it to much more in store.
Deuteronomy 4
May we BE obedient and follow God’s laws so that we may live and may go and take possession of all He is giving us. Let us not forget the covenant of the Lord our God that He made with us and do not make for ourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord our God has forbidden. For the Lord our God is a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 4:1, 23-24). We are His possessions that He treasures dearly.
The devotional from Jewish Voice Ministries International this morning says, “If we dedicate ourselves to life-giving planting, the fruit of the Spirit will mature in due time. Another thing is true: The more we plant, the more we harvest.” Whatever we give, it shall BE given unto us. Whatever we desire, God can and will give it unto us in due season. As one of the scriptures highlighted confirms, the devotional emphasizes, “The harvest we genuinely want is found in Galatians 5:22‒23: ‘But the fruit of the Ruach (Spirit)is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control….’” God promises all of these things in abundance for our lives, and working to possess them allows us to live the richest lives.
Psalms 51:1-2
His REdemptive love will scatter, cover, and smother anything that we’ve done that is not of Him if we seek forgiveness and leave it at the alter. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Take time today today to think of the trail of trials you have traveled to your triumphs this Thursday, my friend.
