Daily Devotional for September 16, 2020

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭

I had the biggest smile on my face when I saw the scripture associated with today’s message from Joel Osteen: Romans 8:28! When you see that, in the words and voice of The Notorious B.I.G., “It’s all good baby, baby!” And from my perspective, Everything God Ordains (EGO). When we walk with Christ, in the words of Mary J. Blige, “You Don’t Have Worry”, and wrapping it up along with Method Man, “You’re All I Need To Get By.” “If God is for us, who or what can BE against us?” (Romans 8:31) As Osteen states matter-of-factly for us, “The bottom line is: God has your best interests at heart.” He can see and knows what’s BEst for us. His hedge of protection is all around us, and we can trust and BElieve He will come through with what’s BEst for you and me. So just know, as the title of the devotional says, it’s all good; the good, the bad, and the indifferent that is occurring is working for your good.

Deuteronomy 3

As in Deuteronomy 3, we have nothing to fear along this JOurneY when we are in our Father, for He will place right in our hands what is meant for us and will fight our battles, “Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭3:22‬). Let us walk by faith, trusting His process and outcomes for our lives.

Change your mind, change your life. I have truly come to REalize the fact around that statement. As today’s introductory message from Jewish Voice Ministries International, “Our earthly lives will include a battle to live by the Spirit and not from the flesh. Many a teacher has noted that the one who thrives in us is the one we feed.” Though somewhat physical in nature, this battle BEgins with the mind. My favorite word: choices. We must choose life over death, and that life is to live more abundantly. How do we live in abundance here on earth? “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans‬ ‭8:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ May we keep our minds stayed on Thee.

May we make love not war with our words during this life that we live. The perfect blend from each of our contributions will bring about a melodious sound to positively impact the lives of others, drawing them nearer to Christ. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
