Daily Devotional for September 1, 2020
“But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”” Numbers 13:31
Last night I had a session with one of my first clients. She has served as a life coach but mentioned she had BEcome tired. I REflected on the devotionals by Osteen and REassured her, “You may be tired but you’re not weary. If you are tired you can rest, but if you’re weary you won’t accomplish your goal.” I BEgan to funnel into my “Joel-isha Osteen” character 🙂. I REminded her the importance of keeping a positive perspective through every situation for God works everything for our good. I REminded her that it’s inevitable that the enemy will come to kill, steal, and destroy what she sets out to do, for it is written in John 10:10. Similar to the words spoken by Osteen in today’s devotional, “When we are discouraged, we see the problem and not the possibility. We talk about the way things are instead of the way they can become.”
We all have passion and purpose in our lives. We have to work to keep a positive perspective even in the pandemic. Moreover, we have to work to find the good in every situation. That comes with keeping our perspective and mind focused on what’s BEst for us. That comes from surrounding ourselves with likeminded people, and that comes with trusting and BElieving in the promises of God for our lives.
Job 42
I pray this day as we wrap up the book of Job, that we will pray as Job prayed and allow our Father to REstore our JOY, and like Job, may the Lord give us twice as much as before, blessing the second half of our lives even more than in the BEginning (Job 42:10, 12). It’s the first of September. Let us REap the harvest God has promised.
Today’s final devotional by Tony Evans, REminds us that life will come with disappointments, YET (REmember that word?) “Detours disappoint, momentarily. But when we allow them to produce hope – God promises that hope will not disappoint.” When my dad passed, I desired to have a REmembrance of him that would keep me, so I decided on the symbols (like, my sister) for faith, hope, and love. I knew about love and was growing into truly understanding what faith was. Now, I am grateful for this day, for through this devotional it confirms and affirms my thoughts about hope.
Evans says, “Show me someone with an indomitable hope and I will show you someone who has had his or her share of detours. This is because authentic hope is a learned trait. Authentic hope is that level of hope which stays steady despite the storm and circumstances. It is the hope that enables you to keep going on faith alone. A large part of your personal development focuses on growing your ability to hope (like Abraham) against all hope. To believe when nothing looks like it is happening. And to continue to walk in faith, despite the delays.” That speaks to my life and who I have BEcome through God’s grace and mercy over the past few years and allowing Him to direct my path.
James 3:13
May we show people better than we can tell them of God’s word and way. May our actions forever speak louder than our words. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Tell the testament of your faith this Tuesday, my friend.
