Daily Devotional for August 30, 2020
“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:18-19
The focus lately with Osteen’s devotionals has been on weariness. It just goes to show that this life will have challenges. However, there’s a simple word that appeared first thing in the scripture this morning that provides hope and focus: yet. Though things don’t go as we expect, though trials may arise, though our minds may BEgin to have us question situations, YET (nevertheless, inspite of, still, even) we can trust, BElieve, and REjoice in the Lord, for He will work things our and work them for our good. The more we trust and walk with Him, the more our faith will BE tested, but testing allows us the opportunity to prove our knowledge and understanding. Keep this in mind as I have heard BEfore: if what we do and aspire to BE was easy, everyone would BE doing it. Keep the faith and REmain forward, focused and following in faith (and not fear) and favor and YET REjoice in the Lord for He has His hands on you and His plan for you.
Job 41
Job continues to provide us with examples of no matter what may come upon us, or come against us in this life, there is nothing mightier or more powerful than our God.
I love the devotionals which allow me to REflect back over my JOurneY into my glorious adventure with our Father. I now laugh many times of what I expected of my life and what I would BE and do, YET (nevertheless, inspire of, still, even) God allowed me to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. [Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak] to get to my BREAKthrough. Those were detours. I feel like my life is similar to that of Moses, for as I approached my 40th birthday, I knew God was doing something different in my life and I had to yield.
As Tony Evans says this morning in his devotional, “Detours are often a regular part of God’s plan in guiding us to our destinies. He uses these periods in our lives to develop us so that we can affectively carry out our destinies when we reach them. God will often give us a glimpse of our destiny long before we are prepared to actualize it.” Have you REflected today or lately on the detours you have or are experiencing in life? Don’t try to turn back, for your GPS (God’s Plan Supercedes) any shortcut or route that we can find. Trust the process and His pathway.
Proverbs 3:7
Let us not depend on our own understanding but REly upon our Father and His word to keep us along the path of righteousness. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Make your mark this Monday, my friend.
