Daily Devotional for December 23, 2020
“It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.” Luke 2:26 NIV
My friend, let us stay REady so we don’t have to get REady for what God is going to do in our lives! God is going to come through in our lives. As with Simeon in today’s devotional, Osteen encourages us and confirms God’s promise to us, “You need to get ready. I am going to finish what I started. No one or nothing can stop Me from fulfilling My promises.” Today is a new day with new beginnings and new opportunities and new blessings and new mercies. It is an opportunity to BEgin again and press towards the mark of the High Calling. It is yet another day for us to get our houses in order and expect God to come through in our lives knowing that He keeps His promises. Let us BE faithful this day and each day as we draw closer to to where He is guiding us to prosper and not to harm us along life’s JOurneY. Get REady, get REady, get REady!
Jeremiah 17
Let us REmember our lives are not our own—they BElong to the Father. Let us not BE so focused on others and their thoughts on our lives as we make decisions. For Jeremiah 17:5 says, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.’” Let us not let spouses, parents, friends or others impart words that cause us to stray from what we know God has placed in hearts and minds. For verse 7 and 10 go on to say, “‘But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him...I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.’” There is no thought, action, or deed from man that can compare to a gift from our Father. Trust in Him, in His will, and His way for your life.
REflection from Waiting on God
As we wait in expectancy and anticipation for what God has prepared for our lives, let us not grow weary from the wait, but let us find wisdom in the wait. As Dr. Stanley REminds us, “He’s working in the unseen on your behalf” (Isaiah 64:4). God goes BEfore us and orders our steps. Let us trust in Him and His ways. During the waiting, let us further develop our faith in Him by continuing to seek and obey Him, for as with weight lifting, we will BE strengthened with the wait for Him. Just as important, let us continue to commune together as the body of Christ, supporting one another, and knowing we are along this faith JOurneY together.
Luke 2:14
We all have favor upon us; we just have to choose peace for ourselves in all circumstances, REgardless of other’s thoughts or feelings, for the peace from our Father surpasses all understanding. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Wait without worry but in wisdom knowing the wonderful things that He is willing upon your way this Wednesday, my friend.
