Daily Devotional for October 26, 2020

“Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:2‬ ‭

When we are at our very lowest point, in the wilderness, God will give us a glimpse—a taste of what we can experience—hope, if we truly walk in faith and not by sight. Yet many of us, including myself at one point in life, BElieve it is too good to BE true and we settle where we are, allowing that temporary provision to keep us in our comfort zone and settling. As Osteen speaks to this morning in Daily Reading from Break Out, God doesn’t just want to provide you with a temporary fix. What has He given you a taste of that was good to your soul? Now know our God is not a tempter. He wants to and will supply your needs. He wants you to REach your land of abundance that He has promised in Ephesians 3:20 for it is a part of His plan for you in Jeremiah 29:11. Trust in Him. He wants to give you the desires of your heart, but you have to do what you know He’s put in your heart and not fear taking a leap in faith BEcause of an idle mind.

Ephesians 5

Ephesians 5:1-2 calls is to be imitators of God, as His beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. We must first love ourselves for He loves us. And in the same way we love ourselves we must love others. If we cannot love others the way we love ourselves, we must let go. As in verse 6, we should not let anyone deceive us with empty words, and nor should we deceive, for God knows our hearts and we do not want to BE deceitful. Let us BE careful then how we live (as in verses 15-17), not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time He is giving us, and let us not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is—not ours. Is it a season for you to truly walk in love for you and as God would have you to do?

In today’s devotional, Day 5: An Unguarded Spirit from God’s Not Done With You by Tauren Wells, he asks, “How many times do we make big declarations of faith but then fail to take the small steps of obedience that lead us to the fulfillment of those declarations?“ This is truly something to think about. When God puts something in our hearts, we must not ignore it, but do the work. Just taking one step, the first step, gets us one step closer to our destiny. Many of us, including myself get wrapped up in doing and praying for others, and then like Peter, we fail to do what our Father asks, and we fall asleep on ourselves—not praying for the one who we have control over.

As I was editing my book, I REcount speaking about this exact thing. I had strayed away from God—no longer going to church and always praying for Him to do for others and BE for others but not for myself. But when I finally did, as with Peter, taking inventory of my own heart, God put me in a place of power to truly walk in faith with Him and love me first. Stop denying yourself, your heart and your needs for others. Love yourself first, for you are the only person you have to live with in this life.

Matthew 6:33

May we always look to Him and what He has for us and what is right for us, according to Him and not what others think and BElieve, and He will give us exactly what we need, to include the desires of our hearts according to His will.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Live in the moment with no REgrets this Monday, my friend.
