Daily Devotional for December 29, 2020
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”(Hebrews 10:23 NIV)
I was listening to Joel Osteen just yesterday and he was speaking about the word “hope”. He was talking about how when we were younger many of us were told, “ Don’t get your hopes up...”. However, when it comes to faith, that’s just the opposite. Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation, a desire that something is certain to happen. Hope is trusting. As the scripture with Osteen’s message from today’s devotional says, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23 NIV). Know that all that you have and continue to hope for, our Father will bring to pass. As a REminder from yesterday, stay in faith but just as important, BE of good courage.
Jeremiah 23
Jeremiah 23:22 speaks the following from the Lord who encourages us to stand in His council so that we would proclaim His words to people and would turn them from evil ways and deeds. In all that we ask, think, and do, let us take it to the Father, leave it with Him, BEing still to await His confirmation for our next step along life’s JOurneY. For as in Psalms 37:25, “…I have never seen the righteous forsaken...”
REflection from Waiting on God
During the final message from Dr. Charles Stanley, he emphasizes 1 Corinthians 2:9-10, and REassures us, “You may not be able to imagine all that the Father’s doing in and through the days, months, and years you’ve been seeking Him, but it’s absolutely amazing.” Stanley goes further to REmind us that our Father will ALWAYS come through for us, and that’s a matter of F.A.CT.—faith, assurance, courage, and trust. As I said to my siSTAR yesterday, God will not bring us T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) and not keep us, and bring us to where He won’t REmain with us. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us. On Him we can ALWAYS depend. Trust the wait and BE of good courage and hold fast to Ecclesiastes 9:11, “...The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong...but time and chance happen to them all.”
1 Corinthians 13:4
Let us not grow weary or frustrated with haste in the wait, but let us BE forever kind in the process and steps ahead with ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Trust the timing of all things, this Tuesday, my friend.
