Daily Devotional for October 16, 2020
“But he pulled back his hand, and his brother was born first. And she said, “What a breach you have made for yourself [to be the firstborn]!” Genesis 38:29 AMP
As I read devotionals now, I end up doing a lot of REflecting; no longer with REgret, but always in awe of how far I have come by faith. Joel Osteen speaks about there BEing two people inside of us: “One wants to stretch. The other wants to settle.” We do not have to settle and live with the way things are. We are surrounded by God's favor. When I think about the settling, I compare it to a health JOurneY. When we don’t move and sit around, we are sluggish and are literally weighed down. Yet when we stretch and BEgin to move we BEcome energized and the weight is lifted. God did not us to live in misery and burdened down; He created us to live in JOY. Will you stretch or will you settle? Don’t let your brother or sister, husband of wife, friend or foe keep you from your dreams and destiny. I chose to stretch BEcause I know He has a plan for my life and I can do all things and BEcome all that He has planned for me by walking in faith and truth and choosing me. What will you do? #choices
Deuteronomy 33
As in Deuteronomy 33, May the Lord bless all our skills, and be pleased with the work of our hands... Strike down those who rise against us, our foes till they rise no more...Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in us, for You shield us all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders... and like Israel, blessed are we, and shall He be our shield and helper and our glorious sword. Our enemies will cower before us, and we will tread on their heights. (Deuteronomy 33:11-12, 29)
Sadler speaks about choices as well this morning. She says, “ Our unrest (in life) comes because we don’t want to believe that God has that much control over our lives. It’s hard surrendering to the idea that our lives are bigger than we are.” She goes further to say, we must decide what we think about God, then live it out when difficult times come, deciding to hold on to the dreams God gives us even when we lose. We must REmember, sometimes we have to lose to win.
Philippians 2:11
There is no denying that He is Lord; point blank, period. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Fear is not a factor with the Father this Friday, my friend.
