Daily Devotional for September 13, 2021
“But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:4 NKJV
Osteen says this morning, “God always finishes what he started”. No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly (Psalms 84:11). As with the scripture associated with today’s devotional, “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:4 NKJV). Patience begets prosperity.
James 1
We are encouraged to count it all joy—not just the good, but challenges in life as well. For as written in James 1:2-3, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” REmember, trials come to make us strong.
REflection from Work and Rest
This morning’s devotional from “Work and Rest” REminds us, “God's rightful role is the provider of our needs, the giver of comfort and security, and the recipient of our greatest devotion. It is human instinct to secure more material wealth than we need as a way of ensuring we will never be without it.” Let us not BEcome so dependent on (wo)man and materialistic things, for what does it profit us to gain so much and lose our souls? Seek the Father for all your needs, and literally REst assured from work. Let balance BE your budget to ensure worship over work.
