Daily Devotional for September 14, 2021

“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” Hebrews‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Usually, seeing is BElieving for most people, but your word is your bond. This morning Osteen lifts up Hebrews 2:1, which encourages us to pay close attention to what we hear. The Lord’s word is true, and it shall last and not go void, but we must stay anchored in Him and not drift because things may not look as we hope or desire. REmember, His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. God REmains in the blessing business, and yours is on the way.

James 2

There are two clear points in James 2 this morning that deal with ourselves and others. As with verse 8, we shall love our neighbors as ourselves, and as with verse 26, faith without works is dead. We must do the work in this life—loving and lifting others—and just as importantly, loving and lifting ourselves to REap the REwards now and eternally.

REflection from Work and Rest

Meditate on this message from “Work and Rest”: The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27). God created an entire day just for us. That day is a day gifted to REst and REplenish our souls in worship. But not only did He designate a day, He also gave of His only son, who REmains with us in spirit and in truth at all times, so we can worship and witness whenever and wherever.

1 John 4:18

We have nothing to fear when we live in love of the Lord.

Tell of His goodness today, my friend.
