Daily Devotional for September 12, 2021
“Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!” Joshua 23:14 NLT
Perspective is critical when we are focused on God’s promises. Osteen highlights Joshua 23:14 this morning, and REminds us, “Don’t let other people talk you out of what God put in your heart…God didn’t put the promise in them; he put it in you.” What God has for me is for me, and what God has for you is for you. Trust the process and keep a positive perspective and BE patient for His promises to BE fulfilled.
Joshua 24
My friend, Joshua 24:14 encourages us this day, “So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols … Serve the Lord alone.” There is nothing nor nobody greater.
REflection from Work and Rest
Today’s devotional from “Work and Rest” speaks about exile. “Exile is a metaphor the Bible uses repeatedly for the life of faith. It is during times of displacement that God's people most profoundly rely on God's presence and God's promises.” REflecting upon my life, I now see the alignment. I experienced my own exile which REmoved me from my familiar into the unknown alone, causing me to truly REly on God’s presence and His promises. As the message goes further explaining, I pray that I have invested in myself in my exile in such a way that my community is blessed and God's name is known. For as a REsult I share daily devotionals, have written a book, and seek anyway to tell of His goodness and wondrous work.
