Daily Devotional for November 7, 2020
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47
As I REad this morning’s devotional from Joel Osteen, my thoughts went immediately to my dad. As a first-generation college student, I don’t think he ever truly imagined the impact he would have on so many lives. As his life came to an end, I was able to interact with people from his childhood, students he first taught in the 70’s, and people he came in contact during even his last days. As I absorbed all of this, and REflect now, I pray that his legacy lives on in me, and that our Father will use me to BE a greater influence, continuing the legacy but at the same time creating a new one. May He use me each day to BE a willing vessel, to break barriers, and draw more to Him in unconventional ways.
Exodus 11
Even though some people’s hearts may BE or may BEcome hardened BEcause of what we are choosing to do and BE (as Pharaoh’s in Exodus 11) let that not prevent us from doing God’s will. We are in a season of harvest, and in this season, as Pastor Furtick shares “The proof of God’s love is in the pruning.” As we REap our harvest, some things and people will BE pruned from this season. Let go and let God, for He has a plan and knows what’s BEst for your life.
This morning the devotional by YouVersion challenges us saying, “What if we adjusted our normal mindset to have a better than normal one?” As REminded by Dr. Seuss’ quote yesterday, we were born to stand out; we were meant to BE abnormal! In (wo)man’s eyes abnormal is not a good thing. But with God, abnormal is a wonderful thing. The prefix ab- is defined as separate, away, from. Our uniqueness separates us from others. Our blessings of abundance takes us away from those who fail to ask our Father, and our prayers and petitions take us from where we once were held in bondage. Let us strive to BE abnormal as we walk towards our destiny. For what we are choosing to do, if it was easy, everyone would BE doing it. Stay the course and put your ab- work in as you exercise along your faith walk JOurneY this day.
Hebrew 11:6
God doesn’t REquire a lot of us as others do; He only asks the size of a mustard seed for us to have faith in order for Him to bless us exponentially. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Savor this season you’re seated in this Saturday, my friend.
