The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

On this Father’s Day, the scripture associated with Osteen’s message reads, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). He tells of a story where disappointment serves as transportation to our destiny. As I hold back tears, thinking about the loss of my father, I REalize the disappointment and hurt from his death worked towards strengthening my faith, and has contributed to me walking in faith into what God has for my life. With the death of my father also came the death of my marriage, but all that created a REbirth for my life—REstoration for me to accept that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Though I’m missing his physical presence, I can feel him with me in spirit. Like me, I pray that those who are missing a father this day feel what you need to feel, and those who are celebrating a loved one cherish the moments. For this day and each day is a part of God’s plan to strengthen you and prepare you along life’s JOurneY.

Genesis 17

As the Lord spoke to Abram, may we too, walk before Him faithfully and be blameless (Genesis‬ ‭17:1‬).

REflection from Closer to God Each Day

Joyce Meyer’s message today encourages us to set our mind and keep it set on right things, good things. We must always REmember that the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Meyer says, “The devil doesn’t want you to break through because he knows that if you do, you will enjoy your life and be a blessing to others.” Know that each day and each experience in life may not BE pleasant, but know God works everything for our good, and we must go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) to get to our breakthrough. Keep a positive perspective as you progress along your path.

Proverbs 20:7

Let us walk in a way that we desire those who follow to best emulate us as we serve as children of the Most High God. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Sorrow and success are seeds sewn as we are strengthened while seeking the Savior, my friend.
