Daily Devotional for September 8, 2021

“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Joel Osteen gives such a comforting reminder this morning. He says, “Put your hope in the Lord. When you have hope in Him, the scripture says you’ll never be disappointed.” As I read that, I thought of the lyrics to a hymn we sing in church that says, “…build your hope on things eternal. Hold, to God’s unchanging hand.” Let us not depend on things that are temporary—seasons. Let us always BE rooted and grounded in the Lord, holding on to His promises for our lives.

Joshua 20

Things in life happen where we cause accidental and unintentional harm; however, as in Joshua 20, God provides REfuge to prevent REvenge. He’s such a marvelous protector.

REflection from Work and Rest

I failed to post from “Work and Rest”. Today’s message continues to REmind us of the importance of seeking God in our professional lives. We must focus on our passion and purpose that’s found through our gifts He has bestowed upon us, and not profit. For the devotional says, “Jesus restores work to its original good purpose: exercising our God-given gifts, and offering back the riches God has invested in us.” As the scripture in 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, God loves a cheerful giver. Give freely of your talents and REap God’s treasure, not (wo)man’s for your life.

2 Corinthians 9:7

May we give ungrudgingly as God gives to us unconditionally.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Waste not on worry this Wednesday, my friend.
