Daily Devotional for September 9, 2021

“Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.” Zechariah‬ ‭9:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I must confess that I’m a prisoner of hope. Osteen says this morning, “To be a ‘prisoner of hope’ means you can’t get away from it. You’re anchored to it.” Four years ago on this day my life BEgan to change. The number 9 is said to symbolically represent a culmination of wisdom and experience, and buzzes with the energy of both endings and new beginnings. I September (the 9th month) on the 9th day in 2017, I BEgan to hope for what at the time I could not see or was not experiencing—love, peace, JOY, contentment. And now, on this same day, four years later, keeping the faith I am living the JOY, and peace I hoped for, and I’m REmaining steadfast about the love that continues to show its evolution in my life.

Joshua 21

As we continue to study the word, let us REmain confident that as Christ did for those in Israel, and as written in Joshua 21:45, “Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.” What He’s done for others, he’ll do for me and you. He’s a promise keeper, we just have to REmain in hope and walk in faith.

REflection from Work and Rest

As we work this day and each day to REmain in hope and walk in faith, let us also take an opportunity to REst. Today’s message from “Work and Rest” says, “The "rest" God initiated at creation was enjoying creation. Sabbath rest is not inactivity, but rather taking a break from the activity you must do to survive. God's rest is a taste of what life was like in the beginning. And a foretaste of what it will one day be.” Are you taking time to enJOY what you are creating in your personal and professional life from the work you put in? I encourage you to LIVE in the moment with no REgrets, and like our Father, take a day of REst to enJOY yourself and life by just BEing.

Matthew 9:37-38

There is so much to be REaped from living for Christ, but we must BE willing to put in the work. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Traverse on through your trail of transformation and triumph this Thursday, my friend.
