Daily Devotional for May 4, 2021
You know we call those blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] who were steadfast and endured [difficult circumstances]. James 5:11 AMP
This morning I awoke to still more congratulatory messages from family and friends as a REsult of the announcement about my new position. After only reading one, I was anxious to see how this morning’s devotional would align. As usual, I smiled at the scripture and the message. It REad, “You know we call those blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] who were steadfast and endured [difficult circumstances]” (James 5:11). I am truly blessed for I have BEen and continue to BE steadfast and have endured my own difficult circumstances. As the title of today’s message emphasizes, we must go from pain to gain. As Osteen shared through the message, “God is counting on you to help others facing the same thing.... Don’t just go through it, grow through it.... You’re going to come out stronger, promoted, and increased. Out of that pain you’re going to give birth to a new level of your destiny.“
Yesterday was a true testament to just that! God has promoted me to a new level to share my story to those with whom I already know, but He has enlarged my territory to a greater audience. As I always say, we have to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurts, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) for our breakthrough. My breakthrough is here—I’m stronger, promoted, and increased, but I know there is more to come if I continue walk in faith, for my latter will BE greater and my best is YET to come!
Luke 22
Luke 22:26 says, “...The greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves.” As our Father continues to bless, keep, and promote us to new levels, may we continue to have a spirit of servant leadership. This day and each day I think about my earthly father who would play a song when I was little that said, “The only time that you should look down on a man is when you’re picking him up”. Let us not BE ashamed to serve and lift as we climb.
REflection from The Confident Woman Devotional
Joyce Meyer’s message this morning from “The Confident Woman Devotional” says, “Fear does not mean you are a coward. It only means that you need to be willing to feel the fear and do what you need to do anyway.” We must truly allow our faith to trump any fear in our lives. For what God leads us to, He will lead us through. Let us pray Meyer’s prayer this day:
“Pray: Lord, thank You for the many examples in Your Word of individuals who stepped forward in faith despite their fears. Help me to do the same. Amen.”
