Daily Devotional for January 7, 2020
“but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel…” Luke 24:21 NIV
It is important for us not to REturn but REflect and look back over our lives to see all that God has brought us T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) and to along our JOurneY. REflect on that situation while going through you could barely put one foot in front of the other, the one where you thought you would never stop crying. What is that time where you literally could not see how you would survive? Now see, in this moment, how it has worked for your good. A few years ago, I thought divorce and the death of my father alone would kill me, not to include moving and a medical issue. Yet now, I see all that has worked in my favor. First and foremost I am much stronger in my spirit. I have started sharing the Word and goodness with others, I have written a book, I have REbuilt my credit, I am able to pay my tithes off top and have money for savings each month, and I have joy and peace that this world didn’t give to me and so much more.
I can go on and on, but there is no way when I was going through that I would have BElieved the pain would work for my prosperity. As we continue to travel along this glorious adventure, let us BE REminded that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Trust the process and even the pain in your life, for we will only see by and by how He will work it for our good.
Jeremiah 32
Let us always REmember as in Jeremiah 32:19, “Great are His purposes and mighty are His deeds. His eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; He rewards each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve.” As we have spoken about things working for our good, in verse 42 we see this example and confirmation. “This is what the Lord says: As I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will give them all the prosperity I have promised them.” We can REst assured that He will Romans 8:28 everything in our lives.
REflection from New Year: Living With Purpose
Today we BEgin the series “New Year: Living With Purpose” by the International Leadership Institute. The message for today BEgins with one of my favorite scriptures, Jeremiah 29:11, and ends with these words: “Finding your purpose is empowering. A purpose is life-giving. God is purposeful, and He has created us for a purpose.” This year is the year of empowerment for you and me. This year will BE a year for us to give freely of our time, talent, and treasures as we boldly walk in our passion and purpose. REmember this day and each day, God has a purpose and plan for your life. Seek Him to direct your path to peace and prosperity, and if nothing else, your purpose.
Proverbs 11:24
BE the one and not the other. As the Father, give freely of all that you have, give freely yourself and you will always REceive a REturn on your investment in ways that are more than you could ever imagine.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Think things through to give of your time, talent, and treasure this Thursday, my friend.
