Daily Devotional for December 16, 2020

He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. Luke‬ ‭17:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As we walk by faith with our Father, sometimes the choices we make as He guides us goes against our thoughts, learned behaviors, and cultural BEliefs. During those times we truly show a demonstration of our faith. Though the first step and those that follow may seem uncomfortable, though others may criticize and try to convince you to REmain where you are or to continue to do what you’re doing, when we trust in Him, He will make a way out of no way, make the impossible possible, create doors that don’t exist, and heal hearts that man has broken. So trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Jeremiah 10

As in Jeremiah 10:23-24, let us REmember that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course. You and I, our family and friends—we cannot determine our course in life. For His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. We must depend on our Father to lead us and guide us along the way. Yet if we stray, may He correct us with His gentle spirit and lead us on.

REflection from Elisha: a Tale of Ridiculous Faith

Today’s message from Pastor Groeschel aligns with the discussion of the lepers in Osteen’s devotional, and ties in with that of Jeremiah 10 this morning. Groeschel REminds us like Naaman, “At some point in your life you’ve probably felt led to do something by God that seemed a little crazy or ridiculous at that very moment...His initial response was not what you expected and you were not willing to humble yourself enough to submit to God’s methods...We are not greater than God and we must place our full faith in Him that He will do it at the right time and in the right way.” As already stated this morning, His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways. Let us have ridiculous faith, trusting, BElieving, and knowing, He can do anything but fail and will come through on time.

Colossians 3:13

As we walk by faith along our JOurneY, let us let go internally of that which is BEhind us, for we should forgive but don’t have to forget. Forgiveness is for you and what we are expected to do as our Father has done. Let go and let God bless you as a REsult of blessing someone else. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Walk in faith without worry this Wednesday, my friend.
