Daily Devotional for December 17, 2020

“‘Let’s go across to the outpost of those pagans,’ Jonathan said to his armor bearer. ‘Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!’” 1Samuel‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today’s devotional from Osteen immediately makes me think about James 2;27, which says faith without works is dead. It is important for us to wait on the Lord, but we can still work while we wait in preparation for what He will do in our lives. As a mother works to get things in order as she awaits labor, or as individuals prepare for the holidays to arrive, putting up decorations and planning meals and gatherings; in that same manner we must work to prepare for what God will do in our lives. As we wait patiently on the Lord, let us not wait to BEgin to put in the work. BEgin or continue to think on things as encouraged in Philippians 4:8, but not only that write the vision as in Habakkuk 2:2-3, and then go about each day as charged in Colossians 3:23.

Jeremiah 11

Each day as we press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling, may we not ever stop praising and prophesying in the Lord BEcause the enemy comes against us, as in Jeremiah 11:21. Yet that is the ultimate time to speak into existence your goals and aspirations and step out in faith to achieve them. In life we have to show people better than we can tell them, so let your work speak for you today and each day.

REflection from Elisha: a Tale of Ridiculous Faith

In today’s devotional by Pastor Groeschel, he uses another situation with Elisha to show us that God cares about what we’ve lost in our lives, no matter how significant or insignificant those things may seem. Groeschel gives us comfort and courage stating, “He can help you recover what you’ve lost. God can help you find what you lost by beginning to look at where it fell. Go back to where you got off track and allow God to help put you back on track.” I am a living testament and willing vessel to prove that God is a god of a second chance; He is a god of REstoration. Know that through Christ we can BEgin again. When we fall down, we can get back up again. The Potter wants to put you back together again. Give Him your broken pieces—your heart, your mind, your spirit, your occupation, your RElationship—and let Him have His way to shape and mold it into His plan for your life for the BEst that is yet to come, and the latter that will be greater, BEcause you haven’t seen anything yet! Trust Him and try Him for yourself.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

God did not create us to live in misery, therefore we must always find the JOY in the JOurneY, praying and thanking Him for everything He will work for our good in the end. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Take time to tell Him “thank you” even for the trials this Thursday, my friend.
