Daily Devotional for May 24, 2021
The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Isaiah 35:1
Over the past few years, I have chosen a word as my theme or focus instead of a new year’s REsolution; this year’s is alignment. As with previous years, I have to REmind myself of my focus and what I’ve prayed for, because many times God is giving me just what I ask for, but not in the way I might expect. I have to REmind myself that it rains on the just and the unjust, and there will be good days, but there will also BE some weary days. As I am transitioning into a new position with a new organization, I have had some eye opening conversations with the leadership team and faculty. Just the other day the president said, “Leadership is lonely”. That truly gave me a different perspective from what I have heard BEfore, which was, it gets lonely at the top. I love this perspective as I look back over my career and even where I am BEing placed. As I’ve also heard, “You can’t take everyone with you to the next level.” In today’s devotional by Joel Osteen, he says, “We all go through things in life that stink. We don’t like what has happened; something wasn’t fair. You need to have a new perspective: that’s just fertilizer. The stinky stuff—the betrayal, the disappointment, the loss—is getting you prepared for new growth, to bloom, to blossom, to become all you were created to be.” As we grow into our own we have to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) on our on, and it’s BEst to BE alone. Lonely isn’t a bad thing, BEcause no one knows what you’ve BEen nor walked in your shoes. Lonely, or BEing in isolation allows us to BE in alignment with our Father to hear what He’s working for our favor. For what God has for me, is for me. As a post I recently saw REminded me to ask myself from time to time, “What if everything you are going through us preparing you for what you asked for? It REally literally takes shit for us to grow—REmember that.
Acts 18
The Lord spoke to Paul in Acts 18: 9-10 saying, “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you...”. Whether we walk alone or have followers, may we never BE afraid to speak to what is right and good in Christ for ourselves and for others.
REflection from Starting Your Day Right Devotional
Today Joyce Meyer’s message speaks to “Asking For Help.” She is quoted as saying, “Addictions, habits, or negative attitudes can wear you out.” Many of us suffer internally BEcause we can’t even BE honest with ourselves, and if you can’t BE honest with yourself, who can you BE honest with? However, what a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear? What a privilege it is to carry everything to God in prayer. We can confide in Christ, but He also encourages us to confess to others. Meyer says, “He may lead you to confess your faults to other believers whom you can trust to pray for you. The Word says that we are to confess our faults to one another so that we may be healed and restored.” It’s time to let go and let God guide you to that friend or loved one who will help you, for we cannot heal until we REveal.
John 20:21
Look to the Father, for He can take your many broken pieces and give you peace. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Marvel at the moments in life that have miraculously manifested this Monday, my friend.
