Daily Devotional for October 20, 2020

Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there. ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭11:31‬ ‭

I was speaking to one of my coaching clients last night. The individual has the desire to set out and finally embark upon his passion and purpose, but always lets the thoughts of one he cares for to prevent him from taking the steps necessary to move forward. I REminded the individual that sacrifice comes with walking in faith and doing what God will have you to do. Your race and your JOurneY is not for everyone to understand. What God has placed in you is for you. As I tell those I’m coaching, “You are Y.O.U. (you only understand).” It may impact others, but the vision is for you to bring to fruition. As Osteen says this morning, “Have you settled somewhere way beneath what you know God has put in you? You have so much in you. You are full of talent, ideas, creativity, and potential.” Don’t stay uncomfortable within and allow your dreams to be stillborn for settling because of others’ thoughts and opinions. BEcome uncomfortable for that growing within is what God has planned to birth from within you.

Malachi 3

We can ignore signs from God and ignore His confirmations and covenants for us, yet He is the Lord and does not change [but remains faithful to His covenant with us]...Even when have turned away from his statutes and ordinances and have not kept them, He welcomes us to REturn to Him. Whether in the plans He has for us or in the various ways He provides for our lives, let us run to Him bringing the little He asks of us, a tenth (of our time, talent, and treasure) so that He may open for us the windows of heaven and pour out for us so great a blessing until there is no more room for us to receive it. (Malachi‬ ‭3:6-7, 10‬). He only asks for a fraction; imagine if we gave Him our all.

In alignment with today’s focus, we must REmember our lives are not our own. We BElong to the Father. Julius Jeffress Sadler encourages us today to RElinquish our false sense of control into the faithful, loving hands of the One Who cannot fail nor forsake us. Matthew 16:25 assures us that “Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for His sake will find it.” In the words of Sadler, “Losing control allows us to find our faith. The freedom God gives us as we learn to surrender provides the peace needed to pray big things.” Let go and let God this day and each day of your life.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Our Father has so much in store for us, yet we block our own blessings. We can walk around living a lie in the face of others without them knowing, but we cannot hide the truth from ourselves and our God. May we stop blocking our own blessings, suffering on the inside while trying to live and make others happy and comfortable. Let us REturn to our Father so that He REstores the joy in us. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Today is the day to take the tiniest step in faith, my friend.
