Daily Devotional for January 11, 2021
“If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” 1 Peter 4:14 NIV
It truly feels good to BE at a point in life when you feel like you can REflect upon God’s goodness and mercy instead of praying for it as you are going T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak). As I REad today’s devotional by Joel Osteen, like his father, I’m so glad that God closed certain doors in my life causing me to BE pushed out. As Osteen speaks, “Getting pushed out was one of the best things that could have happened...God knows if we stay in a limited environment, we would never become who we are created to be.” Have you BEen pushed out or do you feel like you are BEing pushed out? Just like a baby in a mother’s womb, it might BE time for a new life to BE birthed for you.
Jeremiah 36
Last night I REad a devotional that God promises us many things in this life, but one thing that we forget is found in John 16:33, which He says, “‘In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’” Let us take heed of the warnings of trials our Father puts in our paths for opportunities to grow and strengthen us. Let us not ignore them as done in Jeremiah 36, bringing unfortunate harm and danger to ourselves for BEing disobedient.
REflection from Divine Time Management
Today we BEgin the series, “Divine Time Management” by Elizabeth Grace Saunders. Saunders says, “God doesn’t want us to idolize our ability to control ourselves and manage our lives. Instead, God desires us to put trust in Him at the center of all we do.” I was speaking to a client yesterday morning REminding her of Psalms 46:10. Many of us strive to BE in control of everything and everyone. That causes so much added stress and anxiety in our lives. We must learn to let go and let God, for as Saunders REminds us, paraphrasing Psalm 127:1-2, if God is not in what we do, it will all be in vain. Let us give all things to God, including the management of our time each day, for He knows what He has planned for us (Jeremiah 29:11) every day of our lives.
John 13:35
Family, friends, foes, and the unknowns—love them as you desire to BE, as Christ unconditionally loves you and me. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
