Daily Devotional for January 10, 2020
““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.” Isaiah 55:8 NIV
This morning Osteen speaks about doors closing that he felt should have been open for him and his ministry, but he then says, “Now I thank Him for closing those doors. I look back and know that was God keeping us from receiving less than He had in store for us.” This is a new year, a new month, a new day, a new hour, a new minute, a new moment. Don’t let what you perceive as a closed door from your past keep you in a negative mindset and unable to have faith in what God has in store for your life. As I have learned in the past few months, God will not only close doors, He will open doors, and many times create doors for us.
Jeremiah 35
The scripture from Osteen’s devotional (Isaiah 55:8) ties into the scripture from Jeremiah 35. God’s plans are not (wo)man’s plans and neither are His thoughts as our thoughts. Let us not BE like those in Jeremiah 35, living in a scarcity mindset BEcause of what (wo)man has spoken to them, but let us listen to the words and promises of our Father who reigns supreme. He wants to prosper us and not harm us and keep us from falling.
REflections from New Year: Living With Purpose
The International Leadership Institute ends its series this morning encouraging us to live every day. Likewise I encourage myself and others to live in the moment with no REgrets for the next is not promised. We are given four tools to focus on each day in today’s devotional: REmembering our vision, REviewing our goals, making a list, and most importantly, BEginning each day with prayer. This serves as confirmation for me, for this has BEen part of my routine since losing my father and REalizing how critical it was going to BE for me to keep living, and work to fulfill my purpose as he did in this life. My EGOcentric Canvas displays my vision and allows me to REview my goals each morning when I rise and each night as I prepare to REst. My Passion Planner allows me to list what’s most important for each day, and specifically allows me to carve out time for me, but first and foremost my time with the Father each morning for the past 728 days.
If this is not a practice for you or maybe you need to REset—BEgin today. If you are interested in creating an EGOcentric Canvas or learning more about my Passion Planner, contact me directly at info@mybigegolife.com.
Hebrews 10:24
May my sharing with you each day encourage and inspire you to encourage and inspire another each day. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
