Daily Devotional for June 23, 2021
… being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience. Colossians 1:11
Last night I asked God to take something away from me, but this morning’s devotional has given me a different perspective of the matter. The scripture highlighted says, “… being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience” (Colossians 1:11). I have to REmind myself that God strengthens me through challenges and adversity. When it comes to getting physically strong, one uses REsistance weights. In the same way, those things that come against us, strengthen our spiritual life and faith. Osteen says this morning (like I tried on last evening), “A lot of times we’re trying to pray away all our troubles, pray away the challenges, pray away the bad breaks. But here’s the key: you’re not anointed from trouble, you are anointed for trouble. The Scripture says, ‘God is a present help in trouble.’ He is not going to stop every difficulty and every bad break, but He will give you the strength…” to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak). Oh, what comfort I feel this morning after REst and His REassurance this morning.
Genesis 20
As with Abimelek in Genesis 20:6, may we strive to go about life doing things with a clear conscience, so that our Father will keep us from sinning against Him.
REflection from Closer to God Each Day
A friend of mine posted yesterday on social media something similar to the following statement: Each day I’m giving the opportunity to do the possible, but God is there to do the impossible. Meyer’s devotional speaks to the necessity of having a firm foundation, and that’s Christ, our Solid Rock. She goes on to say, “If we get our roots wrapped around Jesus Christ, we are in good shape. But if we get them wrapped around anything or anyone else, we are in trouble. No person or thing is going to be as solid and dependable as Jesus…. Humans are always liable to failure. But Jesus Christ isn’t.” Oh, how firm a foundation is found in our faith through the Father; He’s unchanging and unwavering.
Psalms 83:4
May we BE certain that God has BEen in the miracle working business since creation. He is mindful of each of us and can manifest what we meditate on and make miracles in our lives.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Walk yet wait on the Lord’s wondrous ways this Wednesday, my friend.
