Daily Devotional for November 17, 2020

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah‬ ‭64:8‬ ‭

I’m so glad to know that I am a work in progress. I had an opportunity to dine with my supervisor last night, and I stated to her that I’m so glad I’m not who I used to be. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, and all have our appointed time on the potter’s wheel, BEing molded and shaped. Our Father works on us with patience, but sometimes we get in our own way and out of formation—allowing our interactions and emotions get the BEst of us, REacting instead of REsponding and letting God BE our vindicator. Yet when we’ve BEen tried in the fire and let go and let God have His way with our lives, we come out as a BEautiful piece of His work, and shaped into our purpose as we go about life’s JOurneY.

Exodus 21

Let us BE careful of how we REspond to others for our Father provides explanations for ill intent and harm brought to another. May we do to others what we would have them do to us, for in Exodus 21 it is written “...eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise” (Exodus‬ ‭21:23-25‬).

REflection from Jehovah Rophe

As we go about our day and interactions, may we “Give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight...” (Exodus 15:26). As Tony Evans speaks about Israel, “The key to healing Israel’s sin-sick hearts was found in obedience to God’s commands and trust in His guidance in spite of the circumstances encountered.” Even when we feel we are BEing wronged, let the Father handle it, knowing He will work everything for our good.

1 Peter 1:24

One thing that does not waiver like that of (wo)man, that was and is, and is to come is His word. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

We’ll BE tried but must walk in truth this Tuesday, my friend.
