Daily Devotional for November 19, 2020
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:8
Last night I stayed up working on the acknowledgments and preface for my book. As I listed people, I REflected on the impact they had in my life during various seasons, and as I REcognized them, I thought to myself, “I’ve come a long way and I’m definitely not who I was.” As Joel Osteen emphasizes this morning, “God may not change others, but He wants to use them to change you.” I can honestly say I don’t look like what I’ve BEen through, but I can also say as in 2 Corinthians 5:17, because of Christ, I am a new creature: old things (and ways) are passed away... Each day is a new day with new beginnings, new blessings, new mercies and new opportunities. The past is gone and I cannot control the future, but I will live in the moment with no REgrets, for the present is truly a gift. I’m blessed to BE a blessing to all and I’m so glad to see less of me and more of Thee in me.
Exodus 23
As God REvealed to me this week, it’s not about who’s right, but to do what’s right. There will BE times in life where though we are right we must let others have their way. As in Exodus 23:9 God provides us with laws of justice and mercy. May we allow Him to be the vindicator; let us not oppress others for we ourselves know how it feels to be in their shoes.
REflection from Practicing Gratitude
In today’s message from “Practicing Gratitude” we are REminded that, “ It can be harder to practice gratitude when things go poorly. And yet, that’s exactly when you need to connect with God. When life is tough, you need God more than ever.” In EVERYTHING give thanks for He has and will always supply our needs, and He will always work everything for our good.
Romans 10:17
May our faith ever evolve from allowing ourselves to focus on and hear our Father through feeding ourselves each day through listening to the Word, sharing the Word, and walking in the Word.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Today is the day to thrive and not just survive, this Thursday, my friend.
