Daily Devotional for January 14, 2020

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:” Psalms‬ ‭37:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I specifically chose this devotional series by Joel Osteen for this year because I am a firm BEliever that God works everything for our good. Romans 8:28 is a scripture that I kept in the forefront of my mind and spoke consistently all of last year. As we are engaging each day, the entries seem to parallel with my life. Similar to the gentleman that Osteen speaks about in today’s message, I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition and REturned the following year only to hear my doctor say he was concerned with something he was hearing with my heart. I had tears in my eyes BEcause I had just lost my dad a year earlier to heart disease. Yet look at me now. From that visit my life forever changed. That situation propelled me into the BEst me health wise. I have not only lost weight but have committed to a new way of life, working to use my life as a testimony. Had it not BEen for that visit, I would not BE where I am physically, and my ministry would not have taken on an arm for coaching others. Everything is a part of God’s master plan for our lives. We don’t always understand when we’re going T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) but it is all REvealed in time.

Jeremiah 39

God spoke to Jeremiah saying, “I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear. I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord” (Jeremiah‬ ‭39:17-18‬). As with Jeremiah in chapter 39, even when we are in confinement and battling with situations in our own lives, God can give us a word to share with others that will minister to ourselves. Let us continue to trust in His word and way for He will always bring us out.

REflection from Divine Time Management

We are to give of our time, talent, and treasure to the Lord. With treasure we give a portion, and with talent we use the gifts we are blessed with, but with time, we are encouraged during today’s devotional, to commit all of it to Him through worship, word, and praise. The word says, I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth (Psalm 34:1). In all that we do each day, no matter how simple or complex, let us seek the Lord foe direction. REmember praise confuses the enemy and worship is our weapon.

Philippians 4:7

When we give everything to the Father—no matter the situation, we can trust that He will keep us in perfect peace, for where our faith BEgins our worry ends.

Take all thoughts and tasks to the Father this Thursday, my friend.
