Daily Devotional for December 9, 2020

The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.” Genesis‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

“I can’t make you happy.” Those words stung when I first heard them, but in hindsight in this year 2020, that was one of the most powerful statements that caused a change in my life. I’m so grateful for my spiritual walk and closer connection to Christ, for I have learned that I am REsponsible for my own happiness, and I choose to live in peace, and joy. I love the perspective that Osteen always gives about many of life’s situations. This morning he said, “Nothing in life has happened to you. It’s happened for you...it has helped to make you into who you are.” And that’s the complete truth. We all have choices, and the most important choice I have made in life is to choose Christ. In choosing Christ, I choose me.

Osteen goes further to say, “You are not defined by your past. You are prepared by your past.” I am not who I used to BE, and I have truly BEcome more and I have BEen blessed in unimaginable ways. As always, I see now I had to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) for my breakthrough, and I’m so glad about it. 🙏🏽

Jeremiah 3

May we know that we can always REturn to the Father. Sometimes we feel we have strayed so far and/or are unworthy of His love. But take heart my brothers and sisters. As in Jeremiah 3:12, we are encouraged to REturn to the Lord, and He will not cause His anger to fall upon us: for He is merciful, and He will not keep anger for ever.”

REflections from Elisha: A Take of Ridiculous Faith

Today we BEgin a new series, “Elisha: A Tale of Ridiculous Faith” by Pastor Greg Groeschel. Groeschel starts off telling how God told Elijah to anoint Elisha as the prophet to REplace him. Pastor Greg then explains that, “Elisha’s ridiculous commitment shows that the cost of following God is great, but the cost of not following Him is even greater.” As I REflect on this devotional, I feel like a present day Elisha, for I REalize that I had to lose some things in order to truly follow God to win. Groeschel goes further to show us, “Elisha left everything he knew and loved behind. Elisha shows us that to step toward your destiny, you have to step away from your security.” I encourage you today, let go and let God have His way in your life for your latter will BE greater and your BEst is yet to come, but you must trust Him to do exceedingly abundantly more than you can ever ask or think.

Psalms 126:5

God knows our hearts and all about our tears. Every painful tear produces an abundance of JOY when we wait on Him and trust Him with our lives. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Wait on Him not with worry but for your win this Wednesday, my friend.
