Daily Devotional for October 3, 2020
“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12
RElinquishing control is one of the difficult things to do as a person, but is the most REwarding thing when we walk with God. As we grow up, people ask what do we want to do and what do we want to be, and as a result we start making plans for our lives. Some of us become so driven and fixated, that we are determined not to let anything get in the way of us accomplishing our plan. But as we REflect, is that what the Father has in store and planned? He truly has a purpose and a plan for our lives. Sometimes it aligns perfectly with what we want, and sometimes it makes no sense to us at all. But He supersedes all! Let us listen to the spirit within and trust our Father on high. Whether in sunshine or rain, happiness or pain, He shall direct your path along the glorious (not treacherous) adventure to an abundance of peace and JOY that only love from our Father can provide.
Deuteronomy 20
As we continue along in life we must keep our end goal in mind. As Deuteronomy 20:20 confirms, anything we are at war with will fall. However, “When at war (and you think about what your enemy has or could possibly bring up against you), do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God...(is and) will be with you....For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory” (Deuteronomy 20:1, 4).
Let us BE obedient to God, especially when we have to make the most difficult decisions of choosing ourselves when it may possibly disrupt the lives of others. God has a purpose and plan and we can REst assured that He does all things well. Like Tony Evans speaks of today in the second day of his series “Jehovah-Jireh”, May we like Abraham not just BE obedient and prepare to do what God is directing us to do by hearing Him, but may we go further and DO what God has called us to without hesitation or REservation.
Proverbs 13:20
Our Father has given us each one life to live, but as my dear sister, Michelle Horton says to me and others, “Get behind the wheel of your own success.” We all have choices. May we choose to surround ourselves with likeminded individuals, who are striving to BE our true and authentic selves, working to lift and climb together in our passion and purpose for life with Christ. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
