Daily Devotional for July 16, 2021
“Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”
Deuteronomy 7:9 KJV
In this life there will BE disappointments—things won’t work out the way that we dreamed, planned, or worked at to bring into fruition. Yet there is a covenant of love spoken about in Deuteronomy 7:9 that’s highlighted this morning by Joel Osteen. Osteen REminds us, “But as is true with Mephibosheth, if it doesn’t turn out your way, God will make it up to you.” That marriage, that business, that desire for a child didn’t work out the way you planned? God has not forgotten, but you must trust in His will and His way to show you why and what He has for you. For some things we desire of flesh doesn’t work in our favor so He might work on our hearts to show us even greater in His plan for our lives. Let go and let God and see what will unfold for your life, for sometimes we must lose to win.
Genesis 43
Let us stop self-sabotaging ourselves. God is a God of abundance. He did not create us to live in lack of love, life or in distress. As in Genesis 43:23, “…Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure…”. We truly BEgin to see God’s favor and wonder why instead of witnessing why. REmember your prayers and your faithfulness; He’s only fulfilling His promises of REwards for you in your due season.
REflection from The Cost of Following: Self or Christ?
Today we start “The Cost of Following: Self or Christ?” by Thistlebend. The message today speaks about counting the cost. As just mentioned, sometimes we have to lose to win. We may work at earthly things—our jobs, our homes, even our families, but as the scripture says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). Is it worth the cost to focus on the earthly profit when we can have focus and REceive our REwards from the eternal Prophet?
2 Corinthians 10:5
Let go and let God love us to life. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Fear not, for the future is filled with favor, even this Friday, my friend.
