Daily Devotional for July 18, 2021
“Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.” Isaiah 46:4 ESV
No matter how independent we are or how much we have done, we didn’t get to where we are alone. Osteen shares with us scripture from Isaiah 46:4, which reads: “I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Our Father is all seeing, all knowing, but most importantly, ever present help. He always knows what we need, who we need, when, we need it, and why we need it. That’s why He’s never failed, and when we trust Him, we won’t either. Whether you don’t know where to BEgin with something, you don’t know how to get through something, or you can’t BElieve things could possibly get better; He is there to ensure you are carried to and through to your greater.
Genesis 45
As with Joseph in Genesis 45 and his brothers who set out to kill him, may we REveal our true selves to those who came against us. Though they may feel they destroyed us, let us show that we still live on BEcause we have chosen to forgive (which is for us) and do the will of Christ. Let us not be bitter in interactions with them, but better BEcause of the things we have gone T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) for our breakthrough.
REflection from The Cost of Following: Self or Christ
Today’s devotional from “The Cost of Following: Self or Christ” speaks about allegiance. It encourages us to ask ourselves, “What might I need to lay down, what do I need to leave behind so that I can pick up my cross and follow Jesus in fully devoted discipleship?” Many times we know that God is speaking to us to let go and move in a different direction, yet our comfort and our flesh won’t let us. We stay in marriages for the kids or because we fear the fact of possibly BEing alone. Not REalizing and REmembering that things can BE better off for all involved. Whether a RElationship, job, or anything else that can BE considered an idol in our lives BEcause you give your whole life for it—sacrificing yourself for it—it’s time to let go and let God. Choose Christ today; lay down your burdens (pain, misery, hurt, frustration, fear, deceit…) and take up your cross to follow Thee.
I Corinthians 3:16
Let us fill ourselves with prayer, praise, and thanksgiving as living sanctuaries for Christ. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Sit and soothe your soul in the Savior this Sunday, my friend.
