Daily Devotional for December 19, 2020

“You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.” James‬ ‭2:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As with the scripture associated with Joel Osteen’s message this morning, faith and action (works) go together. Osteen spoke about how his father gathered the family up and they spoke life over themselves and also walked around their home like the people and the wall of Jericho so that the threat of sickness would not fall upon them.. God is our ultimate protector and provider; we only must trust and BElieve. This story REsonates with me, as just last night I REcounted to one of my first spiritual leaders how God allowed me to sell my previous home as a REsult of divorce. It needed some REpairs and maintenance, but I didn’t have the time, money, nor energy to make it happen—but God! In the same manner no sickness came upon the Osteen family when the father was away in ministry, I too, put in work and walked my former home seven times in agreement with my neighbor as we prayed together to God for Him to do just what He said. In three days the house sold for more than the asking price. God will come through , but we must trust, BElieve, and literally walk by faith and do.

Jeremiah 13

Along our JOurneY through it all, may we “Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant...and give glory to the Lord our God before it is too late. Acknowledge him in all things...”, as written in Jeremiah‬ ‭13:15-16‬ .

REflections from Elisha: a Tale of Ridiculous Faith

Philippians 4:19 tells us that God will meet all of our needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. This morning Pastor Groeschel REminds us that, “This promise was true thousands of years ago for the Israelites and remains true today for you. God won’t leave you and He will help you meet your needs no matter how big or small they are.” What are seeking God to help you with in your life? Know He can and will provide. I’m BElieving for a miracle in my life and know in 2021 that I will BE a willing vessel and walking TESTimony of all He has done, is doing and will do in our lives if we just trust, BElieve, and do the work.
